Soap dishes- opinions please!

I’ve made this soap dish- it’s not finished yet as the edges are a bit rough, but thinking of including it in my delivery to Tiddlywink Interiors in Castleton when I send their order in the next few days. Trouble is, I’m not sure what to sell them for, or if they will sell. Time and material-wise I’m looking at around the £10+ mark, which seems very expensive for a soap dish, and I’m also not sure about whether to include soap with them too. I am thinking about buying the truffles by Sue at Soapy Chica (http://soapychica.etsy.com) and including a couple with them, is this a good idea?

Opinions good or bad, greatly received!

I think they are fab and if you put a soap and made more a gift persentation, then I can see them doing well. You could always just make a 2-3 and see if they go!!

I think it is lovely! This is partly driven by the fact that I am fed up tot he back teeth of the horrible white goo left all over the top of the sink basin by Craig who will never remember to just try not to leave the soap in a soaking wet pile…

Soap dished are surprisingly heard to come by in the shops nowadays, and I’d love something bright and cheery to set the soap in.

They look fab, I’m in the market for a soap dish at the moment, and a resin one would be just the thing. There’s also the opportunity for some customisation, like if I said I wanted one filled with sand, for example. Great idea including the soaps. If you can source some lovely handmade ones at the right price, people would be more inclined to pay the £10+, good for gifts too. 🙂

There is certainly no harm in trying – nothing to lose. But everything to gain!

I think it’s a novel idea and something I haven’t seen around before.

It’s always difficult to price some handcrafted unique items.

like it, but a little pricey for it on its own. Probably nicely wrapped with soap included would go for a tenner.

I think it looks fab… and I don’t think £10+ is too much to ask for.. after all they are “vintage” buttons.. if they are going in a shop I would have soap optional.. so there would be one soap on display and you can buy the soap with it but as an additional “discounted” price.. as some people man not want the soap as they allready have thier own.. just my thought anyway.. I do think it looks really fab though

Oh wow! I love it. I think your pricing would be reasonable too, as it’s such a quirky one-off gift. It’s definitely special enough to purchase at that price, and I don’t think you’d find them anywhere else. Really creative! x

I think it is a great idea – especially as you can make custom orders – I think they will go really well.

Not even going near the pricing issue, as I have enough problems pricing my own stuff let alone giving advice on someone elses!!

    Good Luck with them!

i love it. great for adding some colour to a white bathroom. £10 is a good price. Adding soap is a nice idea, you could do both, maybe £12 with soap and £10 without? hope they sell well.

Really like it, very unusual. I can see a whole bathroom range, toothbrush holder, tumbler, cotton wool holder. Fab!

I really like this. It looks great and the mix of colours will mean that those tiny bits of soap that stick to the dish will be kind of camouflaged!

I think the price is pretty fair too, and the idea of including soaps is a nice one.

i like it – i think £10 seems fair – i wouldn’t want soaps with it but i’m sure most people would and soapy chica soaps are gorgeous looking.

I love and I want! If only you could do towel rings lol I would say at the right venue with the right filling I could easily see it selling for £10- especially with a nice soap thrown in. 🙂
