Some more reviews…

I thought I’d share some more feedback for my book to “big up ma bad self”. If you want a copy, you know the drill by now- http://www.penny-dog.co.uk and click on books. You know you want to. By the way, the sequel is in the idea stage with a working title of “Further Adventures in Resin Jewellery”.

Anyway, let’s get down to business!

Wahoo! Last day of NaBloPoMo!

This is it, my last compulsory post, I have successfully blogged every day of November and completed NaBloPoMo! I will still be blogging, but it will be more meaningful, and on a less frequent basis, back to 2-3 post a week I think!

I’m feeling poorly and miserable, but the craft fair today really cheered me up. Got lots of positive feedback and ideas from customers and stallholders alike, and it was generally one of the most positive fairs I have ever been to. I was told a scary ghost story about a woman who stands at the top of the stairs and tells a story. I was directly at the bottom of said stairs, so I made sure I was packed up and gone before any chance of that happened! I now have a few bits and bobs to remake for selling online. Here’s a picture of my stand, including my new display board I showed you the other day!

I am taking part in NaBloPoMo (National Blog Post Month), so I will be blogging every day in November. Today is post 30 (last one!): http://www.nablopomo.com/

Interview with… Plaidfuzz

Plaidfuzz is a crafter who is now focusing her attentions on her blog and helping others promote themselves. She does occasionally still get the urge though! Her blog can be read at http://plaidfuzz.blogspot.com

Who are you?
My name is Melissa, I am going to be 28 on Saturday, I have been a hairstylist for 10 years, and I am a single mom to a 7 year old daughter.

What do you do in your spare time other than craft?
I spend a lot of time with my nephews who are 9 and 13. I also play a little guitar, and like to go out with friends.

Please tell us a little bit about what you make.
I crochet and make cards. I seem to have a rubber stamp addiction.

What do you enjoy making most?
I like easy crochet projects because they are pretty mindless and relaxing, lol.

What are your main inspirations for making a piece?
For cardmaking, I usually set out with a specific idea in mind. With crocheting I find yarn that I love and go from there.

What are you currently making?
Scarves! Made on for my daughter and now I am making one for my twin sister for her birthday.

Can you make custom orders?
I do still make the occasional custom order.

Where can we buy your work?
Nowhere! I closed my Etsy shop a few months ago and now I am just concentrating on my blog.

Now some silly questions just for fun!
What’s the plural of mongoose?

Mongeese?

Where would you like to go if you could go anywhere in the world?
I always thought it would be cool to go to Ireland.

Do you have any pets?
Nope

What’s your favourite flavour ice-cream?
Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I would buy a house, then I would give the rest away. I don’t like what money does to people.

Paper Supplies!

I can use paper in my work, and have started to use it more and more, here are a few of my favourite patterned paper finds on Etsy listed over the last couple of days:

The Great British Craft Tour: Tomorrow

My interview for www.thegreatbritishcrafttour.co.uk is tomorrow! I’m going to sneak out of work for a few minutes to talk to Tjobbe and Rosie in their camper van. I’m showing a couple of ice pieces, embedded gems, a citrus piece and a bangle, very exciting! There’s still time to sign up if you are quick, click the link above for more details.

It might even make it onto Central News tomorrow- even more exciting!

Spotlight on… Numpty

Numpty (http://numpty.etsy.com) is another UK seller who likes to recycle, and I have made some lego brick-esque resin earrings in her style (available here: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14435512 ). Her work is bright and brash and proud, “Numptilicious Numptyland” is definitely somewhere I’d like to be, and there’s something to suit everyone (even boys!) including numpties 😉

If you have any great tips for sellers to feature, please drop me an e-mail at kerry@penny-dog.co.uk

I promised you a rockpool ring!

I promised that I would show pictures of the rockpool locket ring and I didn’t! Here’s the pictures now. I wasn’t hugely happy with how it came out, but it was an experiment, the lady who bought it is happy though, and I gave her a free goldfish necklace with it to sweeten the deal!

Competition!

For all you crafters there’s a competition you will probably want to enter… There’s some great prizes and it is all in the name of environmental awareness… the link is here if you fancy having a look at the rules, prizes and how to enter… http://www.craftster.org/350/craftcontest.html  Not sure what I’m going to make yet!
