We went to a couple of antiques shops on the weekend and got some nice new pictures for our living room, amongst other things…

1901-02 Autumn/Winter coat collection for gents and youths… annoying sticker in top corner that needs sugar soaping off. I negotiated a price of £25 (from £34).

Lord Meredith’s sporting balloon at Quorn (near me!) £9, plus a gravure image of a hound, £3.

Birdy plates to hang in the kitchen- £1 each!

This glass cabinet was only £28!

I got another 3 pieces of Hornsea Heirloom for my collection of 70s Hornsea Pottery for £8- a milk jug, a sugar bowl and an oil/vinegar pot, though I already have the set of two with original stoppers. The other ranges I collect are Bronte and Saffron.

After working at the Stitch and Creative Crafts show this weekend, I am now the owner of our demonstration model of the Sizzix Big Shot! I love playing with all of the textures and shapes it can cut and have ordered a crease mat and some box cutting dies, as well as other “useful” shapes so I can integrate felt die cuts into my work, but also creative useful packaging, for instance I haven’t got boxes that will fit bangles. So at the minute I have a pinwheel die and also flower shapes so I made these this morning with some scrap felt!

I also thought I’d share with you a recent purchase at an antiques shop. We went and bought a wine rack to replace our ugly drinks cabinet and I also came away with these lovely paintings for my office for £10 each!

I was also on the Etsy front page on Saturday night with my lace bangle 🙂 I seem to have misplaced the screen grab I took when I saw it, but I do subscribe to Statsy fortunately so you can see it here… http://statsy.org/featurator_view.php?date=2010-09-18+13%3A30

I love this beautiful acrylic jewellery from Una Odd and the combination of a synthetic material with natural patterns. Here’s some of my favourites…

Well the turn out to the fair was shoddy, but I managed to almost quadruple what I paid for the stall, so mustn’t grumble! I made a couple of purchases myself and thought I would share as they’re lovely!

This vintage-look purse was by Rachael Sturgess, she makes bags and purses (and mobile phone holders) from sealed woven paper and fantastic buttons, which was very different and attracted as much attention as was possible. I bought the purse for £3.50, but I would have expected to pay a little more! Handbags ranged from £8-10 and custom orders are taken. Her e-mail address is rachybaby1@blueyonder.co.uk

My other purchase was this bright flower ring for £4.50 from Sue Stanley of Suzie Bijoux, who can be e-mailed at stanley.s@btinternet.com and she shared a stand with Janet Douthwaite-Clark, with an array of different jewellery skills on display from knitted cuffs to beadwoven bracelets to more simple earrings by the pair. This was just my thing, a mixture of brass with my two favourite colours!
