Noo Fabric

I was going to post about my curtain- yes singular- this weekend but they were a bit of a shouty disaster so I shall leave that for a time when I have fixed the problem and can think about it without feeling disappointed with myself.

So on a positive note, there are new fabrics in my Spoonflower shop- Barn Owls, Narwhal and a scribbly flowery thing. Here’s what they look like on Kona cotton.

Go get some if you like 😉

And here is a picture of my idiot dog.

My mini quilt arrived!

This morning before work I went to the sorting office to collect a parcel. I hoped it was my mini quilt from Brit Quilt Swap 3 but when it was handed over it felt like sticks of dynamite and was in an unassuming cylindrical shape with a label saying it was from an architects in Scotland. Puzzled, I drove into work and opened it at my desk. Despite being misleading to look at, I had got my quilt from Jeanette (Hobby lass on Flickr)!

I’d been watching the group and all of these mini quilts that I liked and was hoping were for me one by one went to different people. I really wanted one with a picture, rather than the sort of mini quilt that I had made as that’s more my thing and I planned to hang it on the wall. Luckily for me, I hadn’t realised that there was another pictorial quilt in the works as Jeanette  hadn’t posted WIP pictures, so it was a really nice surprise when it arrived!

I opened it at work so I didn’t have my camera on me, so please excuse the phone photos…

I’m really happy with it, it’s very me and I really like the applique leaves and the button eyes! I have chocolate too but who knows how long that will last on my desk!

Thank you Jeanette!!!

Some new drawings

I haven’t announced the winner of the book giveaway yet have I? Sorry I always do this, so without further ado…

The winner is comment #4 which was left by the lovely Snoodles! I will be dropping you an email shortly for your address (if you don’t beat me to it)!

I’ve not worked on an actual repeating pattern yet for these designs but I thought I’d prove I have got some more sketches done…

And I reckon once I’ve tidied up this quick sketch I could make a lovely repeat!

Owl Swap- my turn!

I got home from work yesterday to find Rosina’s package waiting for me! Inside were my favourite sweets- Jelly Belly beans (how did she know?), a generous amount of cute owl fabric from Alexander Henry- which I seem to be collecting in a non-intentional way (he must just be my favourite!)- some big funky buttons and four handmade cards made from a stamp that Rosina had carved herself! Needless to say the beans are all gone and I am eyeing the fabric to embed as I have to make quite a bit of stuff over the next few weeks. I would like to start sewing too, but never seem to get the time.

Rosina’s blog is at http://rosinahuber.blogspot.com if you like what you see here 😉

Thank you!

Owl Swap and Book Progress…

I took part in Meridian’s Owl Swap (http://meridianariel.blogspot.com) and though I’ve not received my parcel yet, my partner Rosina has received hers, so I can now post a picture of what I sent!

pennydogowlswap

My e-book is now no longer a preorder as it is all completed and if you do decide to order it from http://www.penny-dog.co.uk it will be with you within 24 hours of receiving payment. Those who have ordered paperbacks can be reassured that theirs won’t be far behind now, the manuscript went to the printers today, ready for proofing. I know there is at least one typo that needs editing and then it will be printed for real, and I’m hoping I will have them all ready in a couple of weeks! I can’t see how it will be financially viable for selling on Amazon though as they take a huge cut, so much so I will make a loss after printing costs, so I’m trying to negotiate something at the minute… Just for now, don’t order the book from there as I can’t guarantee they will get the business! 😉
