Olympic Procrastination

I have done very little of anything else but watch the Olympics recently. The odd bit of chocolate has been made and I have sewn a couple of hems on trousers but that’s pretty much the full extent of crafts, and don’t get me started on laundry, hoovering, etc, etc.

Anyway I have just about found time since a week last saturday to make these two new items for my shop. A frame purse using some of my seagull fabric and a simple quilt-as-you-go table runner using only my scraps. And I’m still on track with listing something in my Etsy shops every day!

Hopefully I’ll have a new notebook for my shop and get another cushion made before this time next week.

Ooh and please vote for Sullivan, Fletcher and my Art Quilt over on the Pets on Quilts competition. We are 5, 6 and 7, dog on quilt, other pet on quilt and then art quilt categories respectively. Thank you!

Atherstone Threads Fair Finds

Well the turn out to the fair was shoddy, but I managed to almost quadruple what I paid for the stall, so mustn’t grumble! I made a couple of purchases myself and thought I would share as they’re lovely!

This vintage-look purse was by Rachael Sturgess, she makes bags and purses (and mobile phone holders) from sealed woven paper and fantastic buttons, which was very different and attracted as much attention as was possible. I bought the purse for £3.50, but I would have expected to pay a little more! Handbags ranged from £8-10 and custom orders are taken. Her e-mail address is rachybaby1@blueyonder.co.uk

My other purchase was this bright flower ring for £4.50 from Sue Stanley of Suzie Bijoux, who can be e-mailed at stanley.s@btinternet.com and she shared a stand with Janet Douthwaite-Clark, with an array of different jewellery skills on display from knitted cuffs to beadwoven bracelets to more simple earrings by the pair. This was just my thing, a mixture of brass with my two favourite colours!
