Have I ever mentioned my supplies shop?

You’ll be glad to hear I have another resin tutorial coming up this week, I’m really getting my act together now. However this weekend I have been rather poorly, which has given me an opportunity to get some more stuff listed in my Folksy supplies shop that has been waiting around forever. I set it up several months back now selling button, ribbons and unusual jewellery findings and any stuff I thought people might find cute and unusual to use in their own craft work. This is quite fun as I can buy all those things when I go to the wholesaler that I don’t actually need, or pick up some extra vintage bargains at the market!

Anyway, here’s a few bits I have in stock to show the range of stuff I have, apologies for the massive advert in this update 😉

PennyDog exclusive resin bezels!

Coming very soon are these new bezels for resin jewellery! I designed them and then had them prduced in black acrylic, with white versions expected a little later this year depending on how well received these are! They are 5mm deep, so brilliant for embedding more than just fabric and paper.

You also get a template with each one so you can accurately cut paper to go inside, simply draw around the shape and cut just inside of the line.

They are laser cut and then I assemble them by hand. Leave me a comment if there’s a particular shape you would like to see made and it might just happen!

This little square is 1.5cm wide, I plan to sell these as a bracelet kit with 5 pieces, a toggle clasp and jump rings for £7.20, or individual pieces for £1.50 each.

These stars and hearts are 2 inches wide and make very cute pendants. I plan to sell these for £2.20 each.

I only received these samples today and I was so impatient that I didn’t seal the paper in these properly and the glue probably wasn’t completely dry so it went white, so please excuse the rubbishness of these examples and pretend they are really good 😉

Resin Jewellery Kits

I seem to be blogging every day now, check me out!

Anyway, I wondered if any of my UK blog readers would be interested in a resin jewellery kit?

Usually this would RRP for £34.99 seperately when my site is working:

6oz of new Resin Obsession resin (cure time 6-8 hours- not 4 like I said in previous posts!- or 1 hour in an environment 65-70 degree C), comes with two measuring cups, RRP £12

1 bangle mould and one multi-mould (ideal for earrings and pendants), RRP £5 and £5.50 respectively

My book “Create Your Own Resin Jewellery”, RRP £12.99

I will also throw in 5 stirring sticks and cups and 5 peg bails to fix into your pendants for free!

I am pricing this at £30, and you get free UK delivery too!

All you need extra is a teeny bit of vaseline to wipe around the moulds to help release it as this is epoxy resin rather than polyester. You will also probably want some various jewellery findings depending on what you are making and some fine sandpaper to make the pieces all smooth and lovely. My book uses polyester in its instructions but the projects can all be easily adapted to use this resin.

So if you’re interested, please e-mail kerry@penny-dog.co.uk and I will advise of how to pay (Paypal). Limited stocks are available, so it’s first come first served!

Folksy Top Picks

Both of my Folksy shops have a feature in their Top Picks this week (on the theme of crafting supplies and tools)- yey!

My new hobby

Because I clearly don’t have enough to do with all of the resin casting and cross stitching I do, I’ve decided to take up another craft 😉

This is my first attempt at a Decopatch bangle which I got as a kit from The Decopatch Place. I got so addicted to glue and paper that I then went on to make these bedroom name blocks for week old baby Maisie and almost due baby Alfie from some old MDF table legs…

And now I’m going to start selling decorative embroidery hoops for framing finished fabric and embroidery works. Lots of people are using embroidery hoops to finish off their pieces now, rather than just keep tension, so I thought these could go down quite well on Etsy! Once I have made a few I will revamp my abandoned shop and send out a few press releases and see how we go! You know, because I haven’t got enough online shops already either, what with my new supplies shop on Folksy which I am slowly duplicating over on Etsy

In resin news, I have placed an order for quick setting resin to stock! It sets and can be demoulded in 4-5 hours normally, but with the aid of heat boxes which will be stocked a little later in the year, pieces can be demoulded in just an hour- wow. This means I will soon be adding workshops to my shop for August/September time. The only reason why I haven’t at this stage is because I don’t know if I will have moved by then as we are buying a house! The estate agent’s estimate is that we will be moving at the end of July, however we haven’t had the mortgage finalised yet so it could take a bit longer, hence the uncertainty.

Special offer, new bracelet, oh and a new shop!

I have a few little bits to tell you- firstly and most importantly, I have 25% off EVERYTHING at www.pennydog.com until 13th July, so go have a look and maybe treat yourself 😉 The discount code for checkout is sherbet

Here’s my new favourite item at the minute- they take quite a while, but is made up of realistic but resin gummy teddies- loads of people thought they were the real thing this weekend!

Also I can now confirm that my supply shop is officially open on Folksy and stocked with ribbons! make sure you bookmark http://pennydogsupplies.folksy.com !

Here are some of the pretties you will find there right now:

Down on the Farm and a new supplies shop- exciting stuff!

As newsletter subscribers will know, I’ve started delisting some of my ranges, some of which will merge and others I feel uninspired by and don’t feel like making again. This was partially to streamline and partially because I wanted to introduce a new range… and so here’s a sneak peak of my new range “Down on the Farm”!

Also I have taken the decision to open a supplies shop on Etsy and Folksy. I’m waiting for my delivery of ribbons, but once I have them, you can expect to see some of these pretties…

New “Resi-mate” in my shop!

I am now stocking Resi-Mate reusable pads in my shop- they are really flexible, so I like to use them as a mat for coating scrabble tile pendants on, though they’re great for putting your mixing cup on or mixing two part glue on as it just peels off and it can be reused- so no ruining your surfaces or finding scraps of cardboard!

They are £2.50 plus postage and in my shop now!
